4th Orleans Fallingbrook Scout Group Vol Three, September 2000 |
2000-2001 Scouting Year Starts!
Welcome To All
To all returning and new Scouting youth, parents and guardians, welcome to the new Scouting year with the 4th Orleans Fallingbrook Scouting Group.
We are one of the largest and most vibrant Groups in the area, with an excellent, well trained and enthusiastic leadership, and an active and diverse group of youth.
This season is our 14th year of offering quality Scouting programs to the youth of Fallingbrook.
In speaking with the Section Leaders there are fun, exciting and challenging programs planned for our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Venturers. and everyone should have a great time this Year!
APPLE DAY
The annual Scout Apple Day is scheduled for Saturday October 7th.
We will have our members with our apples at the Fallingbrook Plaza, and we work in shifts so that the time burden is not great on the youth or their parents/guardians.
This is a major fundraising event for Scouts Canada and for our Group and we appreciate your support of this very worthwhile event that also teaches youth community service, public relations, and raises the profile of Scouting in the Community.
Fundraising
We have a number of events planned for the year, such as Apple Day, Scoutrees, and Popcorn sale.
We depend upon the assistance of our Scouting families to help with these events which help pay for our rent to the City for our meeting places, and the program costs.
Please support our efforts to keep Scouting affordable.
Help Needed!
This year, we are in a real need of assistance. We need assistant leaders for most sections, co-ordinators for our fundraising, and camp co-ordinators, Deputy Chair, as well as sewers for the youths neckers.
Please consider helping, and please contact John Cloutier 830-5524 for details of the different positions.
Thanks!
Scouting has been in Canada for over 90 years under a variety of challenges, and we will continue to deliver quality programs to our youth for their fun and development.
Your ideas, suggestions, comments and attendance at any meeting/event would always be welcome. Parent/guardian assistance as volunteers and leaders is always needed, and please respond positively when the need arises.
Thank you for your encouragement and support.
Have a Great Scouting Winter and Spring!!John Cloutier
