4th Orleans Fallingbrook Scout Group |
Sept/Dec 1998
The first half of the Scouting Year was a great success for the 4th Orleans Group.Registration was great, with new members still being signed up in December, so we must be doing something that is attractive for the youth of our community, as the vast majority of our new members are friends of existing Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers.
From the two Group Campfires, (including a Winter/Holiday campfire without snow!) We were able to gather together as an entire Group to share songs, skits, cheers, and refreshments. With the food donations from families we were able to make significant donations to the Civitan Food drive and the Cumberland Resource Centre. Thank you to everyone who was able to make a donation.
APPLE DAY
This was a great success also thanks to the large number of youth, leaders and parents who were able to assist. We also had wonderful support from the Fallingbrook merchants, with a special note to Loebs, and to Tim Hortons and Pizza Pizza who supplied our youth with snacks while the were on their "Apple Shift".Coupon Books
Thank you to all who supported this fund raiser. This year the rental rate charged to us by the Municipality of Cumberland has been increased by 25%, so your assistance is vital. We expect another 25% increase in the rental rate again next year, so any assistance and creative suggestions are always appreciated!. Thank you Jim Elders for looking after this activity.Baden-Powell Dinner

*****
Special thanks to the Parents/caregivers and all our very special leaders who devote so much of their precious free time to the youth of our community.
Our MP, Eugene Bellemare was good to us by donating two Canadian Flags when he became aware that we were in need. Thanks!
Other strong supporters of Scouting are Pizza Pizza and Janes Frozen Foods. We thank them for their support.
Scouting has been in Canada for over 90 years under a variety of challenges, and we will continue to deliver quality programs to our youth for their fun and development.
Your ideas, suggestions, comments as well as your attendance at any meeting/event is always welcome. Parent/guardian assistance as volunteers and leaders is always needed, and please respond positively when the need arises.
Thank you for your encouragement and support.
Have a Great Scouting Winter and Spring!
