Visit to the Cumberland Foodbank

On Wednesday evening, April 5/06, our cub pack (4th Orleans Pack B) visited the Cumberland Food Bank on Taylor Creek. This gave the youth the opportunity to see/hear all about the food bank and it's vital importance to people in our community.
Part of this activity, our youth were given a challenge in January to collect donated food items. With this challenge, they had to collect the food items from family and neighbors, not their own home.
The challenge was to raise 500 lbs of food. Each week, youth would bring in food and it would be weighed and the number added to the chart.

Anyways, long story made short (is that ever possible for me?), our Cub Pack brought 900+lbs to the Food Bank. As part of this, one of the youth's parents (who owns a local business) that if the youth raised the 500lbs, he would donated $100 dollars to go with it.

Great jobs cubs!
