4th ORLEANS BEAVERS COLONY B
WELCOME BACK!!!!!
Rusty (aka Mike Martin); Ringtail (aka Annette Gaucher);
Rainbow (aka
Richard Goyette); Hawkeye (aka
Paul Vrbanac).
Welcome Back to all our returning Beavers and welcome to all our new
friends who have joined our Beaver Colony.
Your Leaders from last year are back again and we hope you all had an
enjoyable summer and are looking forward to another terrific year meeting new
friends and Sharing lots of fun times with all our Beavers.
As usual
we are always looking for helping hands and if you’d like to Share your
time and talents with our Colony and join our leadership group, just ask any of
the leaders for more information. Our
meeting times will be from 6:30 to 7:30 every Tuesday (unless otherwise
advised) and parents are requested to sign their Beavers in and out. Should you make arrangements with another
parent to pick up your Beaver, please inform one of the Leaders.
Over the
coming weeks we have a variety of events planned to re-acquaint or introduce
our Beavers to the routine of our Colony, as well there are 4th Orleans Group
events that have also been planned. Some
of our goals over the coming year are structured to help our Beavers develop a
sense of cooperation, appreciate nature and develop a sense of belonging and sharing. Games, crafts, music, storytelling,
playacting and the outdoors are among the ways we hope to share these
goals with our Beavers.
As you
may be aware, the City of Ottawa has increased the fees it charges for the use
of its facilities. In an effort to reduce some of the Group and
Colony expenses we may try to include more outdoor and touring activities this
year so as to reduce the gym fees. In
lieu of collecting weekly dues, once again this year we’re asking for a
one-time due payment early in the year so as to off set some of our Colony
expenses. This year’s dues are $30.00
cash or cheque payable to 4th Orleans.
During
the year 4th Orleans organizes Group Events and Fund-raising activities which
are aimed at bringing all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts together so as to fully
experience what Scouting is all about.
The Fund-raising activities help off set facility fees, the fees for
various camps or other events, and are also used toward the purchase of camping
equipment. For more information about
Group events, to view pictures from different events or for other contact
information, check out the 4th Orleans Website at: http://4thorleans.rpmdp.com.
